What you receive
The starter covers one website, one Google Business Profile and one primary service area.
- A dated local search baseline. A check of your main service and location searches, with the search location and limits recorded.
- A Business Profile review. Categories, contact details, service area and visible information checked for accuracy.
- A website and enquiry-path review. Up to five priority pages checked for indexing, service clarity, page titles, internal links and a usable contact route.
- A prioritised repair plan. The three most useful next changes, why they matter, and who needs to make them.
- A founder explanation. Written findings from Thomas Howcroft and one follow-up conversation to explain the plan.
Example deliverable
What a useful repair plan looks like.
These are hypothetical findings to show the format, not client results or a diagnosis of your website. Your priorities depend on the evidence we can verify.
- Example 01 / Discovery
A service page is missing from Google.
Evidence: the dated URL inspection result, page response and indexing instructions.
Next step: the website owner checks and corrects the specific indexing fault, then requests a fresh inspection. A submission is not proof of indexing.
- Example 02 / Relevance
A page appears for the wrong service.
Evidence: search queries and their landing pages over the same dated reporting period.
Next step: the content owner clarifies the service, genuine area served and relevant internal links. Track the right queries and enquiries after the change.
- Example 03 / Enquiries
Clicks are being counted as leads.
Evidence: contact-click events compared with received enquiries, with test traffic separated.
Next step: the measurement owner separates visits, contact actions and confirmed enquiries. Missing tracking stays unknown, not zero.
Your handoverEach priority names the finding, evidence, next action, owner and success check. Implementation is agreed separately.
For a wider measurement example, inspect the clearly labelled sample monthly report. For the method behind the checks, read how search visibility is measured.
Before you commit
A small scope, clearly defined.
What is not included
A website rebuild, ongoing SEO, new content production, paid advertising, paid listings and third-party costs are not included. This is a diagnostic and repair plan; implementation is agreed separately before any further work.
Who it suits
A service business with an existing website, a real service area and a clear service to sell. TomHow is based in Stevenage and works remotely across Hertfordshire. Multi-location sites and larger technical problems may need a different scope.
Where AI search fits
Clear service information helps people and search systems understand your business. We flag relevant AI search gaps, but this starter focuses on your local Google presence and the route from visitor to enquiry.
What it does not promise
No guaranteed rankings, leads, revenue or AI citations. The deliverable is a documented baseline and a clear repair plan. Search results vary by location and time.
